We have an EXTREMELY rare beast here!
This Leedy double bass drum internal dampener is believed to have been purchased from Johnny Frost's Drum Shop in Soho, London in 1938.
The double bass drum dampener is a thing of beauty, either fitting through a drilled hole, or through the air vent of the bass drum, the dampener allows both heads to be dampened at the same time.
I have been able to find no other examples of this dampener, so if you do have any details please do share them with us (everyday is a school day!)
It is in superb condition, working as it should, with the original felts still in great condition.
